New to Leeds 2017: A-Z guide

Merry Christmas!

You might have noticed, Leeds has been a bit busy in 2017. And we don’t know about you, but we’ve found it hard to keep up with all the new places and spaces that have opened in the city centre this year.

From fancy restaurants and bars, to shops, hotels, events and just general ‘stuff’ happening in our amazing city, we’ve come up with a handy A-Z guide to the new additions that have made Leeds such a great place to be in 2017.

They are specific to this year only, and mainly in or around the city centre – otherwise this would be a really, really long list. We’ll probably, definitely have missed some – so let us know!

Our favourites for N & O below…

Neighbourhood
A big hit with the celebs of Manchester and Liverpool, and the only nod outside of London in GQ Food & Drink Awards’ Best Bar category, Neighbourhood opened on Greek Street in October and has become the place to be seen.  It’s another New York inspired ‘vibrant dining’ restaurant and bar, with all the opulence of Manhattan and the edginess of Brooklyn.

North Star café

A joint venture between one of Leeds’ most loved coffee businesses, North Star, and Noisette’s Bake House, who you’ll have seen on the street food circuit via their Madeline Express van. It’s down at Leeds Dock, and shuns avocado on toast for more American style bakes and ‘Toast Tapas’.

One Kirkstall Forge
First a modern train station, now a major office building. It’s all happening at Kirkstall Forge, and this One project is part of a huge development at the site, which will bring more than 1,000 homes and 400,000 square foot of retail, leisure and office space to Leeds. Due to open by the end of 2017.
