Is it too early to start the count-down to Christmas? November is full of events to get you excited for Christmas and to celebrate the culture of Leeds. Take a look at the list below of some of Leeds most favourite annual events this November…

Leeds Christmas Light Switch On – 

Known as one of the best events in Leeds, the annual Leeds Christmas lights switch on is back this November and special guests from Leeds Rhinos will be hitting the switch this year! You can expect the event to be filled with live music, entertainment, funfair rides and attractions to make this fun-filled family event better than ever before. Leeds Rock Choir are performing as well as Leeds Contemporary Singers and Boogie Storm (one of Britains Got Talent favourites).

Leeds International Film Festival 

Coming to Leeds for a full 16 days is the Leeds International Film Festival. It is a celebration of world cinema, bringing old and new movies together. A ‘Meet the Makers’ industry programme is included which welcomes special guests and gives an insights into every part of working in the film industry including, acting, directing, costumes and set designs.

Christkindle Markt – German Christmas Market 

It’s the 15th anniversary of the German Christmas Market which will transform Leeds into a scenic festive village for 5 weeks. You can expect the likes of Bratwurst sausages, schnitzels, soups, goulash and more, and the event will be filled with new stalls and venues, live music, singalong games and face painting. There is a Ski Hutte Bar that will be filled with hand crafted decorations and a traditional Glockenspiel; creating a wonderful, festive ambiance.

Leeds Abbey Dash 2017 – Leeds Town Hall 

The Leeds 10K Abbey Dash returns this year to help raise money to continue to provide companionship and support to those who have no one to turn to. If you’re taking part in the run you will be involved in a group warm up and be able to listen to music and bands. You’ll receive a souvenir technical t-shirt and your finishing time will be sent straight to your phone.

Magical Lantern Festival – 24th November 

The Magical Lantern Festival returns to Roundhay Park this year and its bigger and better and more impressive than ever! It’ll be full of dual culture, vibrant colours, artistic sculptures, larger than life lanterns. There will also be the likes of a food and drink area, Tipi bar, Santa’s Grotto, fairground rides and a merchandise marquee to provide you with a family friendly festival to get you ready for Christmas.
